What Happened on this Day in LDS Church History?

On this day in 1925, LDS Major League baseball player, Spencer Adams, became the first Latter-day Saint to play baseball in the World Series. Spencer was from Layton, Utah.

He played Second Baseman, Third Baseman and Short Stop. He threw right handed, but batted left handed.

Spencer began Major League Baseball playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1923, then the Washington Senators in 1925, the New York Yankees in 1926, and ending with the St. Louis Browns in 1927. He played in the 1925 World Series with the Washington Senators and in the 1926 World Series on the New York Yankees team. His final game was 2 October 1927.
