WHOTDILCH 28 October

What Happened on this Day in LDS Church History?
On this day in 1856, Joseph Angell Young (oldest son of Brigham Young) and 27 other companions reach the Martin Handcart Company about sixteen miles from the Platte bridge. Joseph had just returned from a mission, had passed the pioneers on the way to Salt Lake City. He reported their condition to his father and within hours Joseph and his companions were headed back out to rescue these saints in their dire circumstances.

Joseph was ordained an Apostle by his father, but never served in the Quorum of the Twelve.
