Yes, I am still on I Nephi 1:1. Remember some one asked what our favorite Book of Mormon verses for parenting were? That was at the end of July. So I am going through the foot notes on the word "taught" in that verse. Today it took me here.
Mosiah 1:5 "I say unto you, my sons, were it not for these things, which have been kept and preserved by the hand of God, that we might read and understand of his mysteries, and have his commandments always before our eyes, that even our fathers would have dwindled in unbelief, and we should have been like unto our brethren, the Lamanites, who know nothing concerning these things, or even do not believe them when they are taught them, because of the traditions of their fathers, which are not correct."
I see here the power of and parental example in righteousness of personal and family scripture study.
This week we are focusing on the character principle of "priorities," in homeschool. Do our priorities preserve his word to our children?
How are we doing in preserving his word to our children through both our personal and family scripture study?
Do we preserve his words to our families by aligning our lives with the truth found therein?
Are we a stumbling block for our children by not teaching them?
Are words and judgements of our leaders a stumbling block to our children?
Do our children know we sincerely pray for and sustain our leaders?
