What Happened On This Day In LDS Church History? On this day in LDS Church History in 1831, Sidney Rigdon returns from his first visit to the Prophet, Joseph Smith, in New York. While visiting Joseph, the revelation came for the saints to remove to Ohio and that they would be endowed with power from on high. Returning home to Ohio, Sidney Rigdon bears strong testimony of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith's call to be prophet.Links to Further Study
