They said to children and parents-- "We counsel parents and children to give highest priority to family prayer, family home evening, gospel study and instruction, and wholesome family activities. However worthy and appropriate other demands or activities may be, they must not be permitted to displace the divinely-appointed duties that only parents and families can adequately perform."

He then called a conference to announce the establishment of the office of seventy. He then called Joseph Young to be the first President of the Seventies.

Over 5,600 saints were endowed and many families were sealed together in the Nauvoo Temple for 10 December 1845-- 7 February 1846, before fleeing Nauvoo.

On 2 February 1833, in Kirtland, Ohio, the Prophet recorded in his journal: “I completed the translation and review of the New Testament on the 2nd of February, 1833, and sealed it up, no more to be opened till it arrived in Zion.” (History of the Church, 1:324)
